Skiing is Also for Women

Sports and celebrity lifestyle are inseparable. With their work hour and social activities, celebs need to maintain their physical ability at the fittest. There are different sports that celebs like; golf, jogging, aerobic, or even have a skiing holidays when they're on a break.

Talking about ski, I notice that next year we're gonna have Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. There are 86 winter sport events that gonna be held, including some ice sports. The interesting fact is, almost every events are open for both men and women except one, ski jumping.

IOC is having this decision on the base that this sport not yet developed enough and did not meet the basic criteria. Well, if that's the case, why men are still allowed to participate at this event?

Lindsey Vonn, American ski jumper who won the gold medal at FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Czech, proves that her records are closing the one that men ski jumper had. Van is a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the organizers of the 2010 Olympics, said that Canadian legal system as "weak" and the IOC were "like the Taliban of the Olympics."

In my personal opinion, this decision by IOC is very discriminative. Doesn't men and women should be treated equal? Maybe they thought this sport is too dangerous for female, but these actress would prove them wrong.

From left to right you see Victoria Beckham, Heidi Klum, Mischa Barton, and Kate Moss in their skiing activity. They can do skating, cruising down the slope, or snowboarding no worse than a man. But what I really want to see is, women athlete or even those celebs participating in 2010 Winter Olympics Games. That would be nice....
